We are extending an invitation for your firm to consider becoming a sponsor for the 3rd annual Kelly's Bass Kickin' 5k on September 6, 2010. Sponsorship is available in various amounts: $150.00 "Trophy Mount", $250.00 "The Whopper", $500.00 "The Big Kahuna". Please consider this race as part of your firm's 2010 community involvement and advertising. Your company's name will appear on promotional materials for the race including the official website, race shirts, race applications, etc.
The race is to be an annual event to memorialize John "Kelly" Burger, son of Kathy Burger, who died on August 30, 2007 in an automobile accident. Kelly was a Junior at Conway High School and a member of the Conway Cross Country team. Kelly was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of Kelly's concerns was that everyone wears the appropriate shoe for his or her sport. He was persistent to the point if he knew a student did not have the proper shoe, he would give them his outgrown shoes, if they fit.
Excess proceeds of this race will be split between a fund that will be set up to buy athletic shoes for kids at Conway High School, Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation to be used for youth programs, and a scholarship fund for a worthy Conway Cross Country runner.
The family and friends of Kelly appreciate your favorable response to this request for sponsorship. The race is designed for competition, but is also directed towards both kids and adults. The whole focus of the event is for everyone to have fun and enjoy a special morning together while memorializing Kelly by participating in his favorite sport. We, along with Kelly's high school classmates, are hopeful that this will be a time of healing for all of us who have lot him while raising money for several good causes.
